We have a winner!

17 03 2010

Congratulations to Emily, the little ShihTzu who has now gone from a dog on the verge of being thrown away at a puppy mill for having the wrong coloring to the winner of TMER’s Spring Photo Contest.

She barely nudged out Sassy & Justin – the voting was close, but Emily’s friends and family came through for her.

We’ll be in touch to make arrangements for your prize – you’ll be treated to some serious pampering at Excuria Salon & Day Spa.

A big THANK YOU to all those who participated. Not only have you helped us raise more than $250 – all of which will go toward feeding the horses we have now – but you all gave us a glimpse into your lives to those who mean the most to you – your animals. And for that, we also thank you.

Just a reminder that there’s only a few more days left in the voting for our photo contest. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, March 17, and we’ll make arrangements to get that winner their prize.

And every vote counts – it’s a close one among the top contestants!

So get your friends and family involved, and get those votes in!

Photo contest submission – Molly & Betsy

4 03 2010

This is a picture of my two favorite “girls” in the world, my 9 year old daughter Betsy, and my 17 year old quarter horse mare Molly.  Molly was boarded at a ‘not so wonderful’ facility for about 9 years, and she came to live with us last September.  She thoroughly enjoys being allowed to be a HORSE!  She has taught me so much about companionship…and friendship….and about the ‘power’ of respect in a herd.  We enjoy trail rides through our woods, with lots of interesting things to see.  The only trouble….Betsy and I have to take turns riding!!  Hopefully soon Molly will get a nice companion to complete our herd, and then Betsy and I can ride together.  We are praying!

Photo contest extended!

2 03 2010

We’ve had such an overwhelming response form people who are still interested in submitting photos to the contest that we’ve decided to extend the deadline to submit all the way until the day we announce our winner – March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day, for the Irish among us.) We thought it fitting that our ‘lucky’ winner be announced on a day that’s become known for luck – although, we’re pretty sure that winning has everything to do with our wonderful, furry friends.

Submissions can still be sent to tendermercyequinerescue@gmail.com, and the PayPal donation can be sent to cripleridge@wnyip.net. As soon as they’re received, they’ll be up on the blog and on the poll – so get those entries in and get your friends over to vote!
